Privacy Policy
How we care for your data
This policy explains what Project Life collects, why, where it lives, and the control you have over it. We’ve kept it in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are
Project Life (“we”, “us”) is an independent wellness app made by the Project Life team. We are the party responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us any time at hello@projectlife.app.
2. What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work for you:
- Account details. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we receive and store your email address and a user ID that identifies your account. We do not store your Apple or Google password.
- Your profile. Information you choose to share — such as your name, and optionally your date of birth and gender — so the experience can feel more personal.
- What you write and track. The content you create in the app: reflections and journal entries, your conversations with Lira, your Year Map, goals and focuses, practice progress, “About you”, and how you describe your current and desired state. This is the heart of the app, and it belongs to you.
We do not ask for payment card details in the app; any purchases are handled by Apple. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone unless a feature you actively use requires it and you grant permission.
3. Your conversations with Lira
Lira is powered by artificial intelligence. To write a reply, the text of your messages to Lira is sent to a third-party AI provider (our processing partner, OpenRouter, and the language-model service it routes to) that generates the response. We share this content only to produce Lira’s answers — never to advertise to you, and never for sale.
Please treat Lira as a supportive companion, not a confidant for information you would not want processed by an external AI service. And please see our wellness notice — Lira is not a medical or mental-health professional.
4. How we use your data
- To give you your account and keep your entries in sync across sessions.
- To let Lira respond to you and personalize your experience.
- To keep the app secure and working correctly.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your reflections or conversations to show you ads.
5. Where your data is stored
Your account and content are stored with Supabase, our hosting and database provider, on servers located in the European Union (Paris region). Data is protected in transit and at rest by our providers’ standard security measures. If you use the app from outside the EU, your data may be processed in the EU where our servers are.
6. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make the app run, and only as needed:
- Supabase — hosting, database, and authentication.
- OpenRouter and the language-model service — to generate Lira’s replies (see section 3).
- Apple and Google — when you choose to sign in with them.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it. We may add analytics tools in the future to understand how the app is used and improve it; if we do, we will update this policy and our App Store privacy details before turning them on.
7. Your rights & choices
Your data is yours. You can:
- See and edit your profile and entries directly in the app.
- Delete your account and all of its data at any time from Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and everything linked to it from our systems, permanently.
- Ask us for help with any of the above, including access, correction, or deletion, by writing to hello@projectlife.app.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the use of your data, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. We’re happy to help you exercise them.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems. Content sent to our AI provider to generate replies is handled under that provider’s own retention terms.
9. Age
Project Life is intended for people aged 17 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
